Heavy...typical concrete weighs 150 pounds per cubic foot (a space measuring 12 inches on all sides). Cutting manageable pieces is an important part of planning, especially when cutting large openings in walls or trenches in slabs. Our sales team and operator can help you determine a manageable size.
When cutting smaller openings, use the following guidelines:
● For jobs requiring hand removal in a slab, assuming 6” deep concrete, cut 1.5-square-foot pieces.
● For jobs using the same 6” deep slab with equipment such as a skid steer, cut 3-square-foot pieces. In some cases, larger pieces may be acceptable.
● For jobs with thinner slabs, you can cut a larger square footage. With thicker slabs, cut a smaller square footage.
Yes, we do have minimum charges. The type of work and the distance we need to travel to the job dictates the minimum charge.
When placing an order you will be required to provide us with a credit card and billing information to secure a spot on our schedule. You may also come in and prepay for your project. You can also establish an accout with us by filling out a business credit application. Your terms will be determined based on your business credit report.
Yes. We are equipped to cut anything that has to do with concrete. We cut other materials too.
Absolutely. Many of our customers require that we be on their jobs very early in the morning, at night after other workers leave the work area, or on weekends when no one is around. We do our best to meet your needs for every circumstance.
Yes. Our company goes over a very detailed safety program prior to hiring a new employee and we are committed to keeping them well informed and safe.
All of our employees are OSHA 10 trained. Different employees are trained and/or certified in their specific area. We have a safety officer, who keeps up to date with the latest safety issues/topics. We have a company “safety meeting” once a week in which we keep our guys current on what's going on in our local construction fields.
This depends on the time of year and how busy we are. We are able to get to most jobs within 1-3 days. If you have something pressing or urgent, we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
All of our trucks leave the yard every day with the power source required to perform the work on their job list. There may be times when using “house power” will be more effective.
It depends on what equipment the job can support. If we are cutting inside of a building with an electric flat saw we can cut to 15” depth. If we are cutting outside with diesel-powered equipment, we can cut to a max depth of 27”. If a depth of greater than 27” is required we can get the desired depth by chipping it out.
Most of our trucks carry up to 200 gallons of water.
For standard electric slab sawing, an empty room of 10 feet by 10 feet or larger is sufficient. For diesel slab sawing, due to its larger size and required ventilation, we need a 12 feet x 12 feet area or larger. We have hand saws or smaller slab saws for smaller areas.
